Regardless of what's happening at the top echelons of the GAA, clubs have to go about their normal business. Improving facilities is always a priority and typically, clubs don't leave a year go by without some kind of modest improvement. Occasionally, it's decided that a major revamp is needed and that's where Glanworth GAA now find themselves.
Having consulted with their members, this progressive club is pressing ahead with a development plan that includes the construction of new dressing rooms, sanitary facilities and a meeting room.
The main contractor is Martin Roche Construction with another local firm, Neil Kane of Kane Architects responsible for the plans.

At a recent contract signing ceremony, both men said they were delighted to be associated with the project and were looking forward to getting started. Also in attendance was club chairman, Liam Cotter. Liam said the new facilities were badly needed to meet increased demand, especially from juveniles and ladies teams. Liam said the club was delighted to have secured the services of Martin and Neil. He went on to say the project wouldn't be possible without the support and goodwill of members and the general public, it's hoped to have the work completed by September of this year.

These are exciting times for Glanworth GAA who recently agreed a major sponsorship deal with Lagan. There was more good news for the club with confirmation that their venue was chosen for what promises to be an epic clash between newly promoted Mitchelstown and Kildorrery in the intermediate football championship. This game is pencilled in for Saturday, 10th May and has the makings of a classic encounter.
