Investigations are underway following an alleged ‘serious assault’ of a young woman in Fermoy. The woman, aged in her 20s, was reportedly found over the weekend on a rural roadway in the Sheepwalk area of Fermoy.
It is understood that the woman was injured and required hospital treatment following the incident.
“Gardaí in Fermoy are investigating an alleged serious assault of a woman in her 20s at Sheepwalk, Fermoy on the 19th of November 2022,” a Garda spokesperson said.
“Enquires into the matter are ongoing. No further information is available at this time,” the statement added.
On Sunday, the area at Sheepwalk was sealed off for a time as investigations ensued.
Searches have since been carried out in the area and enquiries have taken place.
