Gardaí in Mitchelstown are investigating three burglaries which took place in th early hours of Tuesday morning (March 6).

Two of which saw L'il Bo-tique and Price Savers on Lower Cork Street both broken into. The thieves entered both shops via the front door causing damage in their search for cash.

Some time later, Thornhill's Opticians on Main Street, Kildorrery was the target when two individuals wearing balaclavas, used brute force to gain entry. 

“It sounded like an accident. There was an incredible bang,” Cathy Thornhill told The Avondhu.
