The police are critical to the smooth running of society and in Ireland at least, they remain – unarmed, community based and people focused.
For the last 17th years Cahir based members of An Garda Siochana have been to the forefront in organising a post Christmas senior citizens' party and on Friday last they, along with volunteers from Cahir Fire Brigade, Cahir River Rescue and the local scout troop hosted a very enjoyable get together in Cahir House Hotel – students from Colaiste Dun Iascaigh also helped out.
