The green and white colours are out in force for next weekend, as some of the Limerick team, selectors and management posed with their biggest fan ahead of the Munster final - a car from Gallahue's Garage in Anglesboro, signed by the full panel.

Back in 2001, another car was done up in the garage and was signed by the full panel, before being raffled and raising more than €5,200 for Milford Hospice.

"Who knows what can be raised this year as more people come on board and help us to raise some much needed funding for this great facility. If anyone is interested in helping out, they can either call the garage or come along to our next meeting this Thursday evening. We really do appreciate any help that we are now receiving and a huge thank you to all who have supported us so far," said Dan Gallahue, the chairman of the Drive to Survive (The John Gallahue Galtee Mountain Boy Trust Fund for Cancer Care).

With just five weeks to go until their cross country drive around Ireland, the Drive to Survive group will hold a special meeting on Thursday, July 11 at 8.30pm in Gallahue's Hall in Ballylanders. This will focus on safety matters relating to the drive in August and it is vital that anyone coming along in August will complete the training session on the night and will be eligible to travel in August. There will also be light refreshments on the night.

In the lead up to the big drive, fundraising efforts are ongoing and the next event is a coffee morning in the day care centre in Ballylanders on Sunday, July 14 after Mass, being hosted by Ballylanders Macra na Feirme.

Then on Sunday, July 28 there will be a coffee morning in Tigh Roy, Ionad Culturtha outside Galbally from 10.30am, as part of the traditional Irish music festival, Eigse Eatharlai.

As the countdown continues, there will be further meetings on Thursday nights for the Drive to Survive campaign in Gallahue's Bar at 8.30pm and anyone who wishes to help out or find out more information is more than welcome to come along.
