Fermoy’s 'Wheely Boat' has been treading the Blackwater for 13 years now. The wheelchair-friendly boat is ably manned by Christopher O’Donovan, known far and wide as ‘Kipper the Skipper,’ along with a small number of volunteers.
However, the summer of 2020 is looking to be a relatively bleak landscape for the boat and any associated business.
The boat was launched just last weekend, which Chris explained was very late in the season.
“The boat should have been in the water by the end of March, but with Covid there was no chance until now,” he said.
