Fostering First Ireland (FFI) is looking to recruit foster carers in the North East Cork area who can offer vulnerable children and young people a safe and nurturing home. Hoping to raise an interest in fostering, the non statutory agency is hosting an open information drop in coffee morning on Tuesday, 29th April in the Vienna Woods Hotel, Glanmire, Co Cork from 11am-2pm.

These information events will be hosted by FFI’s fostering advisor Barry Ward, as well as some of FFI’s own experienced foster carers. They will be on hand to talk about the challenges and rewards a career in fostering can bring.

“Foster carers provide children and young people the safety and stability they need to achieve their ambitions and rebuild trust,” explained Barry Ward.

“FFI is looking to recruit more patient, resilient and enthusiastic carers in the North East Cork area with a good sense of humour and the innate ability to care for others. FFI is committed to supporting foster carers, offering 24 hour support, ongoing training, input from educational and therapeutic professionals and a dedicated social worker”

One existing FFI carer added “Fostering can be challenging but it’s also hugely rewarding. With the support from FFI you really can make a positive and lasting difference to a child or young person in care.”

FFI works in partnership with the HSE (CFA) to provide high standards of care for vulnerable children and young people. The agency welcomes foster carers from all walks of life including single carers, married carers, co habiting and same sex couples.

Anyone interested in finding out more about a rewarding career in fostering is more than welcome to come along to these events for an informal chat. Alternatively call 1850 211 593 or visit www.fosteringfirstireland.ie
