Foroige hub opens in Fermoy

A brand new Foroige premises has popped up on McCurtain Street, Fermoy and it is due to become a hive of activity in the coming months.

Following extensive research, a distinct lack of Foroige clubs was recognised from the Mallow area down toward West Waterford.

Through funding from multiple sources, Blackwater Valley Foroige was set up and will offer support, facilities, information, training and guidance across North Cork and West Waterford.

The aim is to set up Foroige clubs across the district while working closely with other youth groups already established in local communities.

Emma Browne, club development officer and Sharon Buckley, training and programmes officer are both based in the Fermoy premises while Mark O’Dwyer and Sinead Kennedy volunteer co-ordinators, are based in Lismore.
