‘Flying High’ as Galbally Garden Fete takes to air

The village of Galbally will be flying high in more ways than one for its 36th annual Garden Fete on this Sunday, August 31.

The village of Galbally, a former National Tidy Towns winner in 1994, will be flying high in more ways than one for its 36th annual Garden Fete on this Sunday, August 31.

Glor Tire winner Michael Collins and his band from Tournafulla, the main musical attraction at the fete, is currently on song with his hit record,‘Flying High’ while the garden fete is also actually taking to air in real terms with a display by the Carron Model Flying Club of Limerick Junction.

The three day Galbally Garden Fete Weekend will kick off with a family forest walk on Friday, August 29 taking in the popular Darby's Bed Loop. The walk will commence at 6.30pm and registration is from 6pm.

Then, on Saturday, August 30, there’s a very special all day event - Féile Galbhaile which features set dancing workshops, a ceilí, an historical walk led by Jim Fitzgerald and Tim Ryan, story telling from Eddie Linehan and a gala concert which features Bobby Gardiner and other illustrious performers from the world of traditional music.
