The honour of hosting the first Rowing Club Quiz of the New Year falls to the Fermoy-Ploemeur-Nowa Deba Twinning Association on this coming Monday night, January 14. The quiz has been very well supported by many local groups in the current season which began last October, and it is hoped that this impetus will be carried on in the months ahead.

It is thanks to those who support the quiz every Monday night, regardless of the weather, that it is now a regular fixture and has been for the past 29 years. The organisation of the quiz is a team effort, this team ensures that everything runs smoothly on the night, and no praise can be too high for Claire, Carmel and the two Marys who are always spot on with the correcting and marking of score sheets.

The quiz is now booked out until the first week of March, and the following is the itinerary; January 14 Fermoy Twinning Association; January 21 Cystic Fibrosis Association; January 28 Fermoy CYMS; February 4 Glencullen Residents Association; February 11 Blackwater Search and Rescue; February 18 Kilmagneir School Parents Association; February 25 Loreto School Parents Association.

There will be news on further quizzes in the weeks ahead. As we begin another year, the Committee of Fermoy Rowing Club would like to take this opportunity to thank all who support the quiz, and also John and all the staff and management of the Grand Hotel.
