Gigs are coming thick and fast at The Firgrove Hotel, Mitchelstown and there was colour aplenty at last Saturday night's 'Pink Up' show in aid of the Irish Cancer Society.

Artists from Ireland and the UK performed, with a mix of musical styles to keep everyone happy. Trina O'Reilly, Dave Sharkey and popular band Route 66 were the headline acts, we also had guest appearances from Elvis and Buddy Holly. It was a night for dancers and dancing and the South East Rock 'n' Roll Dancers led the way with their up tempo, energetic style. Those who were into waltzing were also catered for and the night proved a big hit overall.

At this stage it's safe to say, all causes are good causes and in the case of the Irish Cancer Society, there's no doubting the outstanding work they do. St. Joseph's Foundation (Charleville) also stood to benefit from proceeds. MC was Michael Dennehy and lots of prizes were given away during the raffle.

MORE TO COME

Those who like their dancing will more than likely know that a selection of country legends are scheduled to perform in The Firgrove Hotel on Saturday 1st June - more music, more dancing and more good times await. Details on 025-24111.
