Having started out patrolling the streets of Mitchelstown on 7th April, 1973, it's entirely fitting that long serving Garda Larry O'Hara finish on the same 'beat' when he clocks out for the last time on Thursday, 31st October.

It will mark the end of a 41-year career in which Larry has experienced all the ups and downs associated with modern policing.

Larry's much anticipated 'send off' is taking place in The Firgrove Hotel, Mitchelstown on Friday night, 1st November and no doubt there will be a few tales to be told about this dedicated professional.
