Fine Gael local election's candidate, Phil Leahy is going to take a break from planning his election strategy to demonstrate his arts credentials during the Fermoy Arts Festival.

The well known seanachai and raconteur is participating in a number of events being organised at various venues throughout the festival. Phil will be performing his popular recitations at the Fermoy Youth Centre on Sunday, February 2^nd from 4-6pm and will also be appearing at Elbow Lane for a story-telling segment over the weekend.

TIMELY BOOST

A long-time supporter of the arts and one of the founder members of the recently revived Ballyhooly Arts Festival, Phil believes the arts can play a huge role in the revival of Ireland’s social and economic fortunes. He paid tribute to the organisers of the forthcoming weekend in Fermoy, for providing a much needed boost to the local economy and to the spirit of the community in general.
