Fermoy to retain premier status for another season

Currently lying one spot off the bottom gives us great confidence going into our final game against UL this Saturday at 12 noon at home in the Loreto Sports Complex.

Fermoy Ladies Hockey Club had a fantastic year and now seem guaranteed a second year playing in Division 1.

With a great win against Bandon under our belt the girls have tackled the business end of the season with renewed enthusiasm and love for the game and it really shows on the pitch with some great games being played over the last few weeks.

Currently lying one spot off the bottom gives us great confidence going into our final game against UL this Saturday at 12 noon at home in the Loreto Sports Complex.

BON VOYAGE MARK

It really only seems like yesterday that I wrote an article welcoming our new coach to the club and a few months on I am now writing to wish him the best of luck in his new venture. Mark Egner leaves Fermoy / Cork (and Ireland!) and heads to Virginia, USA to take up a coaching position at a university there.

We will be very sad to see Mark go, he has made a very big impact in the short time he has with us and we will never forget him! We wish Mark the best in his travels and this new part of his life.

TABLE QUIZ

To close the season, and as a final fundraiser for the club, we are holding a table quiz in Kerins Bar on Tuesday next, April 16 at 8pm. A great night is promised. Tables of 4 are €40 and the committee are asking all players and junior club families to come along and take a table.

CLUB AGM

The ladies and junior club AGM will take place on May 1 – more details to follow.

FINAL FIXTURE

Don’t forget our final fixture of the season against UL this Saturday, April 13 at 12 noon. This will be followed by lunch in the Grand Hotel for past and present club members – more details from Aisling Cotter.
