Public toilets located on Ashe Quay in Fermoy have been targeted by vandals once again.
News of this follows concerns which were raised locally, when the toilets were locked and closed to the public on Sunday and Monday this week.
A Cork County Council spokesperson confirmed that the closure was due to ‘substantial damage’ caused by vandals.
“Cork County Council can confirm that the toilets were substantially damaged due to vandalism,” the spokesperson said.
The ladies’ toilet and the disabled toilet were reopened to the public on Wednesday, however, the men’s toilets were not.
According to the spokesperson, the mens’ toilet will remain closed pending electrical repairs, which are due to take place ‘as soon as possible’.
