Fermoy to Mitchelstown cycleway is currently in a ‘stop position’ due to a current lack of funding, council members were told this week.
Senior Engineer Brendan O’Gorman told the council that the ‘greyline’ between Fermoy and Mitchelstown was included in a submission to the National Transport Authority for funding this summer and again, it was refused.
An update on the matter was requested by Cllr Noel McCarthy who claimed that both he and Cllr Kay Dawson had been pushing for the development for some time now.
