Special Olympian and all round sportsman Stephen O’Leary, was the toast of the town last Friday evening as family and friends joined with local councillors for a civic reception in Fermoy Town Hall.
The councillor who proposed the honour for Stephen, Cllr Noel McCarthy, said it was entirely fitting that he be acknowledged in this way.
“This man came back from Abu Dhabi with a bronze medal. He has brought distinction to the town and is fully deserving of this accolade.”
