Feeney Opticians in Fermoy are this week celebrating five years in business on MacCurtain Street under the management of optometrist Jennifer Feeney. The business has been in Fermoy for over 20 years, having originally been founded as Dougan’s Opticians.

Since taking over in 2011, she has refurbished the premises, modernised the layout, re-equipped the consulting room, introduced computerised systems and set up a workshop for the manufacturing and repair of spectacles.

The store serves the eye care needs of residents throughout the Avondhu area, offering a comprehensive choice of products and services to patients. These include; sight tests, contact lens checks, diabetic screening, low vision aid exams, frames, sunglasses, contact lenses and low vision aids.

Jennifer has a BSc MCOptom from the University of Wales in Cardiff, and worked in practised in Wales and Ireland before taking over Feeney Opticians. She is ably supported by her team; Geraldine Horgan, Mary Beecher and Sandra Vaitkuniene.
