There will be style, elegance, fashion and more in The Firgrove on Friday week, September 27, in aid of the Kildorrery Ladies Football and Camogie club.

The night will kick off with a cheese and wine reception at 7.30pm before Claire Cullinane of Elusive Model Agency will take to the microphone as MC for the night to start the show off at 8pm.

There will be a mix of local models and professionals, with the club President Cha Hanley and Chairman Patrick Lynch also making their way down the catwalk for the club's big night.

The models will be wearing clothes from Swear by Fashion and Morgan's in Mallow, Off the Rails, The Wardrobe and Mr Mister, all in Mitchelstown, Murray's in Charleville, High Society in Midleton, Shaws in Fermoy and Jimmy Quilty in Ardpatrick.

There will also be a number of stands, displaying and showcasing things like flowers, hats, jewellery, beautician services and much more. On the night, there will be a prize for the best dressed lady, kindly sponsored by Fermoy Medical Hall.

Last year was the first year in many years that the club ran a fashion show and they are hoping that people will come out and support it on the night. With the weekend that's in it, with the hurling All Ireland final on Saturday and the ladies football final on Sunday, this is a great way to relax and unwind before the big games, while also supporting a local club.

To tie in with the All Ireland and to get one lucky winner kitted out for supporting the rebels, a Cork jersey signed by the hurling team is one of the top raffle prizes, with many others sponsored by local businesses.

"This is our biggest fundraiser in the year and people's support and generosity would be greatly appreciated," chairman Patrick Lynch said.

The club currently has up to 100 members, with junior and underage teams in both football and camogie. They have had some big wins over the years, with county success for both and a Munster title behind the ladies footballers, as well as a number of underage successes.

The dedication of the players to the club can be seen with the number of young players who travel home mid week for training and matches while going to college or living and working away from Kildorrery.

In upcoming games, the junior ladies football team will be in the county league semi final, the U12s are playing in the North Cork final against Kilshannig and the U14s are playing in the North Cork final against Glanworth tonight (Thursday) at 6.30pm in Shanballymore, while the U16s will be playing against Banteer in the North Cork final near the end of the month.

Tickets are €15 and they are available from Thornhill's Pharmacy and from the Post Office in Kildorrery or on the door that night. Tickets are those under 18 are at the reduced price of €10, but are only available on the door.
