Brideview Drama’s ‘Walter’s Fabulous Fever Dream’ commenced its run in Tallow Community Centre last Friday night, with proceeds going to the local church restoration fund. There was a large crowd in attendance, with patrons really enjoying this novel production, which was devised by Liam Roche and David Murphy.

Starring Walter (Declan McCarthy) and Valerie (Ellen Ryan), the show included a variety of characters from film and television – there’s also a bit of Shakespeare thrown in. Among those making cameo appearances were: Gavin Hallahan (The Bull McCabe), Martin Sheehan (The Bird from The Field), Tomas Roche (Fr. Ted), Jim Hyde (The Tin Man from The Wizard Of Oz), Ted O’Brien (Scarecrow from The Wizard Of Oz) and Amy O’Brien as Dorothy.

COLOURFUL AND ELABORATE COSTUMES

The costume department had a very busy few weeks getting everything in place. The end result were some very colourful and elaborate costumes, thanks to the efforts of Susie Connolly, Theresa Costigan, Michelle McCormack and Catherine Callanan. The stage manager was Sophie Tighe with set design in the capable hands of Jack Aherne, Emily Aherne, Frances Tobin, Liz O’Hara, Ellen Ryan and Theresa Costigan.
