It has been a busy few weeks for club members. On March 6th we had a small team compete at the JKA Rising Sun Cup. All the team put in excellent performances.
Tadgh O’Keeffe was in it for the first time and did really well. Dillon Lynch and Tomás O’Keeffe performed excellently in a catagory which included competitors 4 grades above them.
Alfie Carey also performed great in the under 14s and showed he is really up for the all Irelands in May. Sensei Martin Sheehan won the senior men’s.
Then, last weekend senseis Martin Sheehan and Chloe Millar competed in the National Intervarsities Championships and performed excellently. Chloe put in a number of great performances helping secure a team bronze for Cork Institute of Technology.
Martin won out the senior men’s kumite and led the UCC team to Gold in the men’s team event, and helping UCC finish in the runner-up position overall. Well done to both of them.
