The European Football Championship kicked off on June 14th, but this was not on the minds of the 11 local schools that headed to Carrig Park in Fermoy early that morning as they prepared to battle it out in the 20th Synergy Credit Union Primary School Soccer Championship.
Organised jointly by Fermoy Soccer Club and Synergy Credit Union, Tom Clancy of Fermoy FC was kept busy planning and making arrangements for the massive event over the last few weeks. Almost 400 eager and ambitious young soccer players gathered at Carrig Park, the home of Fermoy FC for the tournament.
Excitement was building from 10am, with many parents taking the opportunity to support their child’s school, while the new all-weather pitches and grounds looked fantastic, and great credit is due to all involved in the upkeep and maintenance of this wonderful venue.
