The estates engineer, John Aherne will be asked to come to the next meeting of the Fermoy Electoral Area Committee following a motion from Cllr Noel McCarthy about Springfield Estate in Fermoy.
Cllr McCarthy said that it needed to be clarified if it was taken in charge by Cork County Council or not and was told by engineer Brendan O’Gorman at the meeting, that it had not been taken in charge and that no formal application had been received.
Since permission for the estate was granted in 1995 up to when it was inspected by John Aherne in October 2012, there have been a series of letters sent to the developer, solicitors and and a number of meetings with residents have taken place.
At the moment, there are still problems with access, water mains, road markings, secure fencing and parking.
