M. Spillane, one of Fermoy’s longest-running family businesses, has announced that they will be closing their doors for good.
Located on the corner of Pearse Square, the prominent butcher shop was famed among its customers for its fresh produce, welcoming staff, and personalised service spanning back generations.
This week, Michael and James Spillane, the father and son duo who run the business, have explained that they have now called time on the trade and have thanked all those who have supported them over the years.
“We’d like to thank all the customers who have shopped with us down through the years, current staff Ken and Sean, all the staff who have worked alongside us, and all those who have supported the business in any way. It’s a decision we haven’t taken lightly, but due to the changing times, it’s a decision we’ve had to make,” they said.
