Saturday night was a nostalgic night in Glanworth as customers and friends gathered in Fitzgibbon’s Bar, Glanworth as the popular public house closed its doors after over 50 years of personal service and friendships.

There were tributes galore for the wonderful service provided by the family over the years and best wishes for the future extended to Eileen and family, which we in The Avondhu join with.

The family responded warmly and appreciatively: “As we close the doors on Fitzgibbon’s Bar we just wanted to say a special ‘thank you’ to the people of Glanworth and further afield for all of your support through the years …”
