This year's Eamonn McLoughlin Memorial Cycle in aid of Breakthrough Cancer Research was another outstanding success with substantial funds raised for a very worthy cause.

The cycle (Dunmanway to Kilworth) took place last Saturday and fortunately the weather was kind. Thanks to some very good organisation and a lot of emphasis on health and safety, everyone returned to Ballyclough, Kilworth (the McLoughlin homestead) safe and sound.

A significant undertaking for both participants and organisers, the cycle has raised almost €90,000 to date which is a phenomenal achievement for all concerned. This year there were a number of 'add on' events in The Avondhu Bar and T.J. Goodtymes and these were also very well supported - a coffee morning which coincided with the fundraiser proved another big hit with patrons.

After their exertions last weekend, cyclists were treated to an end-of-run barbecue in Ballyclough which everyone really enjoyed. Some lovely food was served and the occasion was enjoyed by all.

The McLoughlin family are extremely grateful to the many individuals who give so generously of their time to make the event the success it has become. They take this opportunity to thank everyone who has contributed in any way.
