€2million investment in local roads welcomed

There was a general welcome this week for the comprehensive programme announced by Cork County Council to upgrade local and regional roads.

There was a general welcome this week for the comprehensive programme announced by Cork County Council to upgrade local and regional roads in the Mallow area during 2013. The programme represents an injection of almost €2m in new road infrastructure for the area.

Cllr John Paul O’Shea who is vice chairman of the Mallow Area Roads Committee welcomed the programme , saying the news will come as a great relief to all who travel these roads on a daily basis.

Some of the roads to benefit include Ballybeg East to Ballybeg Middle, Twopothouse; Tooreen/Commons, Kilavullen; Skenakilla, Castletownroche; Ballymacmoy to Ballynageehy, Killavullen and Mountnagle to Caherduggan, Doneraile.
