St Joseph's Foundation in Charleville is known far and wide for the outstanding work it does with those who have special needs. Its reputation for excellence has resulted in huge goodwill towards the foundation and this is reflected in the efforts of groups who fundraise on its behalf - fundraising that's becoming increasingly important in the face of Government cutbacks.
Kildorrery is a hotbed of support for St Joseph's Foundation and evidence of this is the level of support generated by an annual coffee morning in Kildorrery Community Centre. This year's coffee morning, in its fifth year, was held on 14th March and raised €2,508. The total raised to date is €16,000.
On Monday morning last, CEO of St Joseph's Foundation Conor Counihan, visited Kildorrery where coffee morning volunteers presented him with the cheque. Conor said St Joseph's were extremely grateful for such a donation and he thanked everyone involved.

Conor accepted the cheque from Dr Martin O'Donnell, who has been involved with St Joseph's Foundation for the last 47 years. Dr O'Donnell's daughter Orna Cogan, thanked everyone who had made the coffee morning such a success. In a further boost, Adrienne Fitzgerald who was representing Kildorrery Drama Group, also presented Conor Counihan with a financial contribution.
The presentation was made in the grounds of the Thatch 'n Thyme restaurant which provided refreshments following formalities.
