
Tesco Fermoy officially opened its doors to much fanfare on Thursday last, July 24, as the ribbon to the new €20 million superstore was cut by European Commissioner, Michael McGrath.
New store manager, Damien Geraghty, was among some of the 100-strong staff on site for the opening at the new store, located just off Mill Road and Courthouse Road in the town.
Among those attending the opening was Liz Downes, a long-term employee of Tesco Mitchelstown who commended the impressive store and its welcoming staff.
“I’ve been working with Tesco in Mitchelstown since 2003 and I came to the new Fermoy store today to meet all the new staff who were trained in Mitchelstown and to wish them well”.
