Cork County Council has committed to fund preliminary site investigation works on Fermoy weir to the tune of €20,000.
These works are to begin immediately as “it was noted that water levels were at a low level and that it is opportune to undertake interim site investigation works which are necessary to inform the overall proposed required works.”
The commitment was made at meeting of elected members of Fermoy MD with James Fogarty, divisional manager and Kevin Morey, Cork County Engineer on Monday and the news was greatly welcomed by all.
