Cork County Council have recently announced further allocations of Community Grants for local organisations in the Fermoy Municipal District. 

Expressing satisfaction at the allocations, Cllr. Frank O’Flynn said that through this funding Cork County Council continues to positively influence the health and social gain of local families and community groups.

The most recent organisations to benefit are: Mitchelstown Community Council €15,000 (Forrest Hall); Mitchelstown Christmas Lights €5,000 (erect lights and running costs); Old Kilcrumper Friends Fermoy €1,800; Beechfield Residents’ Fermoy €200; Doneraile €5,000 (Craft Shop fit out);  Shanballymore GAA Club €1,000 (upgrade heating system for dressing room showers); Fermoy Active Retirement €500 (games equipment); and St Fanahan’s Mitchelstown €300 (repair to benches). 

“This further funding targets voluntary and community organisations and will continue to improve the range and quality of community based facilities in each locality and contribute towards the ongoing enhancement in the quality of life of local families and communities in this council area,” said Cllr O’Flynn.
