Ballyhooly’s Paul McCarthy proudly representing Ireland so well, recently returned from Northern Spain with a silver medal won at the 2016 ISDE World Enduro champiosship, held over 6 days, October 11th to 16th inclusive.
Over 600 competitors, representing 35 countries took part, facing the gruelling and challenging task of racing 8-hours daily, non-stop for 6 days in a row, through the unforgiving Spanish mountains, far from the Nagles!
Speaking to The Avondhu, a delighted Paul said, “To finish such a demanding event is an achievement in itself, but to bring home a world silver for my country is a dream come true”.
Paul would like to thank his family, friends and sponsors for their help and support in pursuing this sport. We congratulate Paul on this magnificent achievement in bringing further honour to Ballyhooly, Cork and Ireland!
