“Great credit is due to the work of the local steering committee of Doneraile Development Association who never gave up hope that this project would succeed. Their tenacity and patience has paid off in spades.”

So said Deputy Sean Sherlock who was speaking following the official opening of Doneraile Court on Saturday.

He said we must now ensure the work continues by harnessing the ambition shown to date, to restore the 17th century gardens.

“This is the next staging post to making Doneraile the major tourist destination for the Munster region with visitors coming from all over the world.”

The Cork East TD also expressed his gratitude to Minister Kevin Boxer Moran ‘for delivering on his promise to restore the ground floor of Doneraile Court’.
