Independent councillors hand deliver letter on N72 funding to Department of Transport

Answers are still awaited regarding the vital funding for the improvement works to the N72 in Fermoy town, which was put ‘on hold’ earlier this year.

Last week, two Fermoy Municipal District councillors travelled to the Department of Transport in Dublin to hand deliver a letter to Minister Eamon Ryan’s office. Despite the Fermoy MD issuing a letter to the Department on the matter earlier this month, a response has yet to be received.

On Friday, the letter penned to the Department by Cllr Peter O’Donoghue and Cllr William O’Leary, outlined the situation regarding the works needed to the N72 in Fermoy, which was allegedly promised a pavement upgrade as far back as 2019.
