Lismore to get new primary care centre
There was widespread consternation among members of Lismore Town Council at their recent meeting when they learned that the Deise bus service is to go no further than Cappoquin from this week. It was understood that funding was secure to have the service provided from Dungarvan through to Cork for this year.
Town Manager Paul Daly said funding up to June 30 was reduced by 6% and that had resulted in cuts to the service on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Cllr Davy Whelan asked that they request that the service go the extra four miles to Lismore. The town manager undertook to have a report on the matter for their next meeting.
