A new business has opened up in Mitchelstown, as Vicky Ahern from Ballylanders has just introduced her semi permanent eyelash extension business, iFlutter in a new premises on Lower Cork Street.

Vicky said that she first saw the need for a business like this when she got her own eyelashes done in the city and realised that there was no service like this locally.

A qualified beautician, but now focussing solely on eyelash extension and lashes, Vicky started out providing the iFlutter service to salons in Co Limerick, but now that she has set up her own dedicated beauty room beside Mark's Fruit and Veg and Bliss Hair Salon, she is hoping that people in the locality will explore the service.

She added that her prices are very competitive compared to city prices, starting from just €20 and her service is very flexible.

Vicky said that the service is by appointment only and as well as being available to do weekend and evening appointments, she also does house calls.

"For someone who wears mascara a lot, this is a much better option, as it is better for the eye and it enhances the eye and makes it more striking," she said.

Vicky also assesses her clients to see what kind of lashes would suit them and she can offer half sets or full sets, which could last up to six weeks.

"The lashes suit people of all ages and take between an hour and a half and two hours to apply, giving the eyes an instant lift afterwards.

"While they are popular for weddings, special occasions and debs, there are a variety of options for everyday wear and the lashes, which are acrylic, silk or mink, are applied one by one and give a very natural look."
