Thursday, November 28 marks the first day of competition for West Waterford junior darts player, Shay Feeney as he competes alongside the Irish A team in the Junior World Darts Championship.
Currently in Gibraltar for the competition, the 14-year-old will be representing his country, having only played darts for around three years.
Donna Feeney, Shay’s mother, spoke with The Avondhu this week from Gibraltar, explaining Shay’s passion for the sport.
“He’s been playing darts for about three years. He got a dart board for his Confirmation and that’s kind of it. I don’t even know how he got really into darts, he just started playing at home with my brother …” Donna said.
