Mallow man, Richard Lucey, was named the 2024 winner of Dairygold’s Malting Barley Competition at the annual Tillage Conference held on Friday last at Corrin Event Centre, Fermoy.
The event saw visitors from across the country descend on the Cork Marts facility, where stall holders and exhibitors mingled ahead of the conference.
Farming in Ballyclough outside Mallow, Mr Lucey manages the family farm with his wife, Jan, and four daughters, operating a tillage contracting service to some of their neighbours, as well as running a successful tile and homeware business off the farm.
