Having held a protest for seven consecutive days, the residents of Beechfield Estate Fermoy while not happy, are slightly relieved to hear that a court order was served on Wednesday to the occupants of the mobile home which was pitched on the green area of Beechfield Estate last Thursday morning.

The occupants of the mobile home are due to appear in the Circuit Court in Cork city this Friday, June 22.

A truck came and delivered a large mobile home last Thursday morning and placed it alongside a small caravan in which a family had been living over the past two years, adjacent to the occupant’s father’s house.

Many residents of Beechfield estate came out of their homes and stood in protest, blocking the delivery truck from exiting the estate.

At the time of going to press on Wednesday night, the residents were refusing to allow the lorry to leave 'without the mobile home being on it'.
