Castlelyons Community Centre Redevelopment Group presents country and gospel singer, James Kilbane in concert at the Castlelyons Community Centre on Friday, 10th October at 7.30pm. This will be James’ first visit to Castlelyons and the event is in support of major community centre redevelopment and repair work, needed for the centre that was built in 1972.
The hall has since become a hub for all local activities in the Castlelyons community and surrounding areas. Built with total local voluntary help in the early 1970s it is situated right next to the local GAA pitch. The centre is in continuous use for meetings, sport and recreational uses ever since and is now in need of updating and repair. A major undertaking of repairs is being planned to introduce extra meeting rooms, function rooms, sports facilities, a new kitchen and new heating system. The end cost to carry out the work is estimated to run to €200,000 and local fundraising will be a central part of the efforts to cover the costs.
The Castlelyons community are looking forward to hosting the concert with multi-platinum selling James Kilbane. Many readers will be familiar with James Kilbane and his well know country, gospel and faith based music, that on the night will include songs as Gravel and Grace, The Nazarene Song and many more. On the evening, James will also include some many Irish ballads and favourites. There will also be a great opportunity for the audience to enjoy songs from River of Grace, that was released in March, which is now his eleventh album release. His home grown and easy style now attracts all ages to his music and from every tradition and walk of life. Through his songs, James tells many stories of life that often touches many hearts at home and abroad. If you like country music, then this will be a night not to be missed.
To enjoy James Kilbane in concert at Castlelyons Community Centre on Friday, 10th October tickets are available from Fermoy Post Office, the Castlelyons Centre committee or by calling 086 8874157. Concert starts at 8pm and doors open at 7.30pm. A very entertaining night is assured and all support will be appreciated.
