Local councillors Noel McCarthy and Tadhg O’Donovan have welcomed the Government’s decision to defer the introduction of water charges for householders until at least 2015. “While it might be seen as a temporary move, we think it will give those opposed to this tax, which is the majority of people, time to ensure that what is now suspended may lead to the termination of same,” Cllr. O’Donovan said.
