Planning permission has been refused for an amusement arcade which was being planned at Cork Road, Fermoy.

Fun Junction (Fermoy) Ltd, a company related to Youghal-based entertainment company Perks had sought to change the use of the existing ground floor unit to an amusement arcade at Corrin Court at the junction of Cork Road and Duntahane Road in the town.

Cork County Council is turning down the application due to concerns that the plans and particulars submitted to them did not provide for adequate off-road parking facilities to serve the development.

The council also stated that the proposed use is not local in nature, is not intended primarily for use by the local population and is a use that would attract clientele from a wider geographical area.
