Cork County Council ‘remains hopeful’ that funding will be made available by Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) to progress the planned N72 scheme this autumn.
An update issued to councillors last week from the Director of Roads and Transportation at Cork County Council outlined that the council is in ongoing discussions with TII representatives over the past two weeks, aiming to secure a solution to the current funding situation.
The update comes as funding for the N72 Pavement Renewal Scheme, which was to see improvements and upgrades to Patrick Street, Fermoy’s Main Street, carried out, was put ‘on pause’.
