A number of local groups are to receive funding from Cork County Council’s 2013 Arts Grants. Kilworth Arts Centre is to receive €4,000, Glanworth Players €500, Ballyhooly Arts Festival €600, Thomas Kent Pipe Band €300, Fermoy Concert Band €800 and North Cork Classical Music €1,300 and Cuisle Avondhu Cultural Centre €800.

Councillor Frank O’Flynn announced the allocations and said that through the funding Cork County Council continues to positively influence the health and social gain of a variety of local community groups.

Cllr Flynn said the grant aid targets local groups and he believes they will help continue to develop the range and quality of community based facilities, contribute towards the ongoing improvement in amenities and enhance the quality of life in local communities in those areas.
