Cattle numbers are always expected at this time of the year and these numbers were realised at Corrin mart this week.
Plenty of cattle on offer and overall a good steady trade, with plenty buyers from all around the country, both online and in the ring.
COWS
Very lively trade for all cows this week.
Store cows: 400 to 550kgs making from €1.45 per kilo to €1.78 per kilo.
Heavier cows: 550kgs+ making from €1.67 per kilo up to €2.05 per kilo.
Hereford 695kg €1,420; Friesian 635kg €1,200; Friesian 700kg €1,300.
BULLOCKS
Larger numbers on offer this week, good steady trade for all cattle. Plenty of buyers looking for cattle at the minute.
Light stores: under 350kgs made from €1.58 per kilo for plain Friesians up to €2.55 for Continental bullocks. With AA/Hereford types making from €2.00 per kilo up to €2.20 per kilo.
Medium stores: 350kgs to 500kgs starting at €1.65 for Friesians up to €2.52 per kilo for Continentals. AA/Hereford bullocks made from €2.05 up to €2.30 per kilo.
Fwd. stores: 500 to 600kgs. The plainer Friesians started at €1.82 per kilo up to €2.58 per kilo.
Heavy bullocks: 600kgs+. Good demand for heavy bullocks making from €2.00 up to €2.20 per kilo.

HEIFERS
Improved trade again this week for heifers.
Store heifers: under 400kgs made from €2.00 up to €2.55 per kilo. AA/Hereford averaged at €2.06 per kilo.
Butchers heifers: 400kgs+. These type heifers made from €2.04 up to €3.00 per kilo, with AA/Hereford averaging at €2.10 per kilo.
