Cork City & County All Star Youth Awards for Darragh Flynn

Darragh Flynn from Mitchelstown, who is a member of Ballygiblin Hurling Club, is the most recent winner of the Cork City & County All Star Youth Award, along with Lauren Farr from Dunmanway, who is a member of Sunday’s Well Swim Club.

Being awarded a number of ‘Man of the Match awards’ during Ballygiblin’s run to the All-Ireland AIB GAA Junior Club Hurling Championship final, Darragh’s playing career started with his club in Ballygiblin, where he first donned the red and white strips at U6 and football with Mitchelstown.

He currently plays Junior A Hurling with his club, as well as Intermediate football with Mitchelstown.

2022 will see the dual star play Lower Intermediate Hurling with Ballygiblin, Intermediate football with Mitchelstown and U20 hurling with Cork in 2022.

LAUREN FARR ALSO A RECIPIENT

Lauren Farr who is from Dunmanway and swims with Sundays Well Swim Club based at the Gus Healy Pool in Douglas has recently been added to the Swim Ireland National Squad after achieving the qualifying criteria in the 100 and 200 metre Backstroke at the Irish Short Course Championships held in Dublin last December.

Lauren has the distinction of being the only Cork swimmer added to the National Squad following the Championships.
