Cork Chamber, in association with Network Cork and Cork City Enterprise Board, will hold a Mentoring Clinic for Female Entrepreneurs, taking place on Friday, 24th May. This event will offer female businesswomen, who are in the process of starting up their own business or in the early stages of business development, the opportunity to avail of a FREE 30 minute mentoring session with an experienced local businesswoman.

The event will begin with presentations from keynote speakers Valerie Kingston and Joni Farthing. Valerie is co-founder of Glenilen Farm, based in Drimoleague, a small company that has won numerous awards over the last few years for their innovation and high quality products. Joni is the founder and CEO of Women Outside The Box – Britain’s biggest festival of female entrepreneurship. She has set up and sold several businesses and is a great believer in the power of networks.

The event is open to established businesswomen as well as early-stage female entrepreneurs, as it offers the opportunity for attendees to network, be inspired by the speakers’ stories and also avail of the free mentoring clinic if appropriate. Katherine Fitzpatrick, EU, Trade & Innovation Services Manager at Cork Chamber, says: “The Chamber is delighted to be supporting and promoting the growth of entrepreneurship among women. The statistics show that many women who could potentially be very successful business owners, do not have the confidence to take the leap, or to “think big” when growing their business.”

Also partnering in this event is Cork City Enterprise Board, which provides a range of supports to start-up businesses. Adrienne Rodgers, CEO, explains: “Often, start-up businesses can be overwhelmed by the number of elements that need to be considered when starting their business. There are a lot of supports available, however sometimes the most valuable advice comes from simply talking through a few ideas with someone who has been there before, and can help you learn from their successes and failures.”

The event will be held in the Clarion Hotel, Cork with a start time of 8.30am. To register for this free event contact Katherine Fitzpatrick (katherine@corkchamber.ie) or book online at www.corkchamber.ie, where you can also view the list of mentors who will be attending.

This event is part financed by DG Enterprise under the European Network of Mentors for Women Entrepreneurs initiative.
