‘Over the moon!’ was the joyous response of Coolagown’s John Feeney this week when The Avondhu called the local man for reaction, following the news that the village had been granted €60,000 by the county council for the purchase of a site adjacent to the church.
Mr Feeney was said that the news “was everything. We’re there, we’re on top of the hill!”
The Village Enhancement Scheme funding was announced at a Fermoy Municipal District meeting on Tuesday this week, and means that the first step has been taken in developing a community hub for the village.
