Residents from Kingston College, Mitchelstown say they’re concerned and disturbed by the growing number of abandoned vehicles in the area.

They say one vehicle, a blue Ford van, has been left there since last summer and another vehicle, a red SEAT car, has been abandoned in the vicinity for 8 – 9 weeks.

A third vehicle has been removed in the past week.

One resident said they are concerned the number of abandoned cars would continue to increase.

The issue surrounding abandoned cars at Kingston College was raised at last Tuesday’s Fermoy Municipal District meeting by Cllr June Murphy, who asked Cork County Council ‘to look into it.’

Pauline Moriarty, Municipal District Officer, promised the matter would be investigated immediately.
