Coillte has announced a new partnership with Rowing Ireland, the national governing body for the sport of rowing in Ireland.

The partnership sees Coillte become one of the official partners of Rowing Ireland, supporting athletes training and competing in river, coastal, offshore and indoor rowing. Rowing Ireland’s state-of-the-art Training Centre, located in Farran Forest Park, Co Cork, one of Coillte’s 12 forest parks nationwide, is a central hub for nurturing Ireland’s growing elite rowing talent and preparing athletes for national and international competitions since 2007.

Imelda Hurley, CEO of Coillte, expressed her enthusiasm for the partnership, stating: “We are delighted to embark on this exciting journey with Rowing Ireland, bringing together the natural beauty and resources of Coillte’s forests and woodlands with the drive and determination of Rowing Ireland athletes.

“This collaboration exemplifies our commitment to sustainability and community, but also the development of rowing talent which relies on the natural landscape. Together, we aspire to support the next generation of rowing champions.”

Michelle Carpenter, CEO of Rowing Ireland, echoed her comments, saying: “We’re delighted to welcome Coillte as a partner of Rowing Ireland to our home of all our athletes and our clubs, nestled within Coillte’s Farran Forest Park which has been a cornerstone in shaping the very best of Rowing Ireland. This partnership not only reinforces our combined commitment to nurturing and developing world-class rowing talent and grass root sport but also underscores how our surrounding environment is vital to their development and continued success.”
